GREAT PRODUCT Mar 18, 2009

My three cats love this leash. It's the PERFECT leash to wear to the vet, as it allows a little something to hold on to during the examination.
I think it's well made and my cats have yet to be able to escape or scoot out of it, which in itself is priceless. It adjusts easily and will fit ANY SIZE CAT - from baby to overweight senior! ;D
In stores, this leash is some times difficult to find - not all pet stores sell it. But, as always, amazon to the rescue!!!
Buy the leash, enjoy the leash - and especially enjoy the time with your furry friend as they enjoy the life around them, securely wrapped and protected from harm in this most comfortable product.

Totally worth every penny and then some. Sep 17, 2007

Completely adjustable to any cat size. I have two 5 month olds that had not problems with this leash and harness combo. They did not even notice the harness. The leash/ lead portion was really interesting to them. This product's first use was to prevent the kitties from running away while I bathe them. Bathe time was a success. Be sure to study the way the lead-harness is wrapped around the cardboard cat image (packaging). This image will be very helpful when you put the harness on your cat. The black durable plastic locking mechanism works like a slip knot. Adjust the harness to your desired fit then lock it in place by either moving the switch or tugging the lead end of the harness and it will automatically lock. Best of all this product is very affordable and low profile. The black lead-harness blends right into my black kitties hair color. I absolutely love this product. I went with this when I learn that I could not buy a one size fit all cat collar available in stores. I did not even bother trying to buy a one size fits all harness because it probably would not fit either. This product is difficult to find in stores, I tried 4 dedicated pet stores and finally found this at Petco.

New Freedom for House-Bound Cat Nov 05, 2006
By C. Riggs This harness is very secure, but allows my cat lots of freedom. Even if tugging occurs the cat is not choked, and the harness doesn't slip. My cat enjoys the freedom of going out into his yard and experiencing the sights and smells. This product has given us both a lot of happiness!

The best we've found Oct 22, 2010
By CVT My 23.75 lb orange tabby has worn one of these harnesses daily for 10+ years - we've even seen some improvements in them - metal tab to all plastic except the hook. He won't wear a collar and this is thin enough that he doesn't mind it at all. He is so used to it, he even knows to wait until it's secured or removed. He goes for walks on it and is also tied out (this product attached to another lead) for brief periods during the day. Last year, I had trouble finding these in local stores, because the alternatives were awful - as another reviewer said - Thank God for Amazon!
As a longtime user, I can understand the anxiety period when someone doesn't "get" it. It's truly very simple, but it can take some practice if you're not used to it. Yes, it CAN get tight -- just as it can get too loose, if you aren't careful to lock it (by pulling back on the leash part once it's secure on the cat - there is a tab that slides down. To loosen, push tab up.) It's really just a common sense thing.
The plastic loop where the hook gets fastened has worn itself open once in the past, but I'm not sure how old that particular harness was. I tend to replace them every year or so.

Beware of strangulation! Dec 17, 2009

Any figure 8 harness is dangerous!
I was trying one of these on my cat, so she could get used to it before we had to go anywhere using it.
She immediately got her back leg caught in the chest strap, while scratching at it and trying to get it off. This tightened the noose around her neck dangerously tight! The more she struggled to get her leg free, the more she choked herself!
Thankfully, I stayed in the room after putting the harness on her, to watch her. I was able to free her within a minute of her entanglement, but she was traumatized by the whole experience and I feel lucky that she was not injured.
If you think about it, any harness of this design is a potential strangle noose. No matter how much slack you leave around the cat's neck, if the chest strap gets caught on anything, the neck strap will tighten.
