I have a short haired cat with a thick undercoat and the shedding comb works the best out of all the cat combs and brushes I have tried, even better than the furminator.

even though this comb works wonders, you have to be gentle so you dont scratch your cat. actually, my cat does not like being combed with it!

I have had this comb for many, many years. It really picks up hair well. I just got a Kong brush to see if there was a big difference since it had great reviews. While the Kong picked up hair that the comb missed, it left a lot of hair on the floor. This comb keeps the carpet neat as it picks up all the loose hair in the comb. It does great with my kitty's undercoat and medium hair. I will probably use the Kong to loosen the hair and then the comb to catch all the hair. I wouldn't say that the comb missed a ton of hair, just some of it.
All in all, this comb was a fabulous find which I accidentally picked up at an independent pet store. I looked at Petco and Petsmart and they didn't carry it in the store. I would recommend it to anybody, if you can find it.
